金管局籲保持謹慎應對可能出現市場波動及風險
金管局發言人表示,由於美國通脹持續高企和就業保持強勁增長,美聯儲宣佈加快縮減資產購買步伐,並將於3月初完成減債。
發言人指,由於通脹風險增加,美聯儲預期可能很快需要加息,而且收緊貨幣政策的步伐也可能較上次收縮週期爲快。在聯繫匯率制度下,港元拆息水平一般會趨近美元息率,同時亦會受本地市場港元資金供求的影響。大家應保持謹慎,應對可能出現的市場波動及風險。
發言人並指,香港貨幣市場繼續保持有序運作,銀行體系流動性充裕,港元匯率維持穩定。金管局會繼續監察市場情況,按照聯繫匯率制度維持貨幣及金融穩定。
