摩根资管调查指港人退休期望存代沟 倡趁早开始退休储蓄

摩根资产管理於2019年10月进行香港退休准备调查,发现不同年龄层的港人对退休的期望存在明显的代沟。

是次调查访问500名零售投资者,年龄介乎30至60岁,拥有至少五年持续投资经验,流动资产超过20万元。平均而言,尽管年轻一代港人平均寿命或高於其长辈,然而年轻一代期望较早退休,亦预期维持生活方式所需的储蓄较低。相比之下,较年长一代预期不仅需要较迟退休,亦需要更多储蓄以应付预期时间较短的退休生活。

调查中,30至40岁的港人估计平均在61岁退休,而51至60岁的受访者则认为自己的平均退休年龄是64岁。至於港人认为需要多少积蓄方能负担退休生活,年轻人认为只需360万元,而较年长一代则估计需要至少430万元。同时,现时65岁港人的寿命预期,男性约为85岁,女性则约为90岁;对於年轻港人,若人均寿命增加的趋势继续,则其寿命预期将会更长。

综合以上所述,相比较年长一代,年轻人期望只需较少储蓄,便能应付较早开始而且很可能年期较长的退休生活。尤有甚者,30至40岁受访者表示现金及保险占其退休投资组合的36%,反映他们的投资未必足以增长财富。有趣的是,51至60岁受访者的投资实际上更为进取,将30%的储蓄投入股票。

摩根资产管理亚太退休策略师Wina Appleton表示,调查结果显示年轻人对退休生活的期望未必符合现实,令人忧虑他们是否对退休有足够准备。为了财务健全,年轻人应制定投资计划,把握时间累积财富。然而,当不少人开始对开支和储蓄需要有较为现实的认知时,往往已经失去时间优势来获取复合回报。

概括对全港人口(包括所有年龄层)的调查结果,一般人估计需要储蓄390万元,方能应付退休生活。审慎的退休计划应考虑三十年或更长年期的生活开支—因此考虑通胀影响,390万元只相当於每月1.4万元的开支预算;若全面停止将储蓄用作投资,这个数字更会下跌至每月只有7,000元,这凸显退休人士有必要继续投资来创造回报,而非单纯依赖现金存款的低利息。

根据香港政府的统计数据,一对普通退休夫妇通常每月花费2万元:这是截至2014/15年的数据,如今这个数字势必更高。若要维持这种生活,一对夫妇退休时至少需要560万元储备金。以上数据对比反映一般港人可能低估本身的开支需要。

Appleton补充,整体上,该行建议投资者及早开始为退休储蓄,并且分散部署及保持投资,以实现其退休目标。
